DAY 1: ARRIVE PARO AND DRIVE TO THIMPHU VALLEY

Arrival in Bhutan Upon Landing in Paro International Airport, meet with our representative who will lead the journey throughout your stay in Bhutan).
Transfer to Thimphu (Capital city of Bhutan) and Check-in to Hotel.
Explore Thimphu valley, home to the seat of Bhutan’s Royal Government and Central Monastic Body.
Observe the fascinating odd looking animal Takin, Bhutan’s National Animal.
Visit the Zilukha Nunnery to discover the lifestyle of nuns residing in the monastery.

DAY 2: THIMPHU TSHECHU – FESTIVAL

Breakfast at hotel and visit more exciting sites including Thimphu Festival today.
Capture one of the biggest festivals in the country, Thimphu Tshechu (festival) held in the capital city for three days. The Tshechu is witnessed by thousands of people, both local and tourists. Mask dances like the Guru Tshengye (Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche), Shaw Shachi (Dance of the Stags) and many more are performed.
Lunch at Local Restaurant.
Cherish the fascinating panoramic view of Thimphu City from Buddha Dordenma, one of the biggest sitting Statue of Buddha in the world.
Take a chance to make your own traditional paper at Jungshi Paper Factory using Bhutanese ancient methods.
Take a walk by the busiest Centenary Farmer Market where fresh Bhutanese produce are available.

DAY 3: DRIVE TO PUNAKHA VALLEY

Breakfast at hotel and Drive towards beautiful Punakha Valley.
Explore Punakha, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Journey to Punakha valley, takes you into some of Bhutan’s most spectacular scenery, from high mountains passes to tiered fields and along the river banks of Pho Chu and Mo Chu.
Stop at Dochula Pass to capture a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain ranges.

Discover the temple of the ‘Divine Madman’ at Chimi Lhakhang.
Enter the courtyard of Pungthang Dewachen Phodrang – Palace of Great Happiness, the beautiful fortress is the winter residence of Bhutan’s Central Monastic Body.
Walk along the longest Suspension bridge and cross the Pho Chu River.

DAY 4: PUNAKHA AND DRIVE TO PARO VALLEY

DAY 5: PARO – TIGER’S NEST HIKE

Early breakfast at hotel and drive to Tiger’s Nest Base/ Parking Lot.
Hike to the most pilgrimage site in Bhutan, Taktsang Monastery or Tiger’s Nest is the most stunning and popular landmark in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Lunch at Taktsang Cafeteria.
Experience the traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath with the combining minerals of the healing khempa herb.
Dinner at Local Farm House.
Overnight at Paro.

DAY 6: DEPART PARO

Centenary Farmer’s Market, Thimphu

Located below the main town, near the Wang Chhu River, Thimphu’s weekend market is by far the largest domestic market for the farmers in Bhutan. Farmers come from all over the country to sell their farm products in the market. With its wide assortment of fresh and organic produce, the Farmer’s Market has become a favourite spot for tourists and a recreational place for people from all walks of life. Across a cantilever footbridge, Kuendeyling Bazaam, to the west bank is a collection of stalls selling clothing, textiles and handicrafts.

Farmer of Bhutan

From the dusk till the dawn, farmers works with dedication in his farm land filled with arrays of vegetable varieties. In Bhutan main source of income for farmers are from field produce like potato, cardamom, orange, apple and green vegetables ready to market. Farmer has to survive with whatever is grown from his land. And today, he has bright face since government has been supporting our farmers in various ways.

Thimphu City

Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, occupies a valley in the country’s western interior. In addition to being the government seat, the city is known for its Buddhist sites. The massive Tashichho Dzong is a fortified monastery and government palace with gold-leaf roofs. The Memorial Chorten, a whitewashed structure with a gold spire, is a revered Buddhist shrine dedicated to Bhutan’s third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. People here are humble and hardworking.
